Avocado hair benefits

We all love adding avocado to our foods, whether it be on toast, on a salad or making guacamole, now let’s add it to our hair. Trust me, you’ll love it there too. It just won’t look nearly as pretty.

If you are currently experiencing dry and dehydrated hair, avocado will work wonders on your hair. This fruit(yes it’s a fruit) is extremely moisturizing and nourishing.

Since Avocado contains natural oils, it gives our hair that beautiful shine you are looking for.

Even if you are not experiencing dry hair, why would you say no to shiny hair? Here are some benefits avocado offers.

Vitamin B- helps strengthen your hair which reverses hair loss.

Vitamin E- helps repair damage that your scalp may have.

Both of these vitamins help promote hair growth down to the cellular level to help strengthen it.

Folic acid- helps with hair growth and is a form of Vitamin B.

Biotin- helps with hair growth.

Guess what! Avocado’s also help with dryness and flakes! You will get to your hair goals faster than you can say “yes, this is my natural hair.”

Don’t put all the pressure on the avocado’s, try exfoliating your scalp for faster results. Check out what else exfoliating helps with!

Of course, to reap all of these benefits and then some, you should consume avocadoes too, not just put it on your hair.

1 Avocado

2 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

First, you’ll want to put the avocado in a bowl and mash it with a fork or a bean/potato masher. You can also mash it with your fist, but that can get messy, plus the avocado might take it personally.

Once you have gotten rid of the chunks add your olive oil and lemon juice. Just remember that a little olive oil goes a long way.

If you add too much you will have to rinse and repeat long enough to stay in the shower to playback that argument you had with your BFF in the 7th grade.

If you are looking to have your hair shine brighter than your highlighter, try this three-ingredient avocado hair mask.

You will want to go for the extra virgin olive oil, you know, the one that hasn’t even been kissed.

This oil hasn’t been treated with chemicals or heat, making it unrefined.

This type of oil is of top quality since it’s made to retain most of the olive’s vitamins and minerals according to goodhousekeeping.

If you suffer from oily hair or dandruff the lemon will help since it’s antifungal.

½ avocado

1 egg

1 tbs of olive oil

If you want your hair to be stronger than your biceps, or if you suffer from hair loss or hair breakage then you need to add some protein to your hair.

Quick, go get your protein powder! Okay, I’m kidding. Go get your chicken and tell it you’ll need an egg asap.

You might have to increase the amount of olive oil, depending on the length of your hair.

Just eyeball it if your hair is really long or thick, nothing bad will happen to your hair if you add too much of something.

Maybe you will just spend more time in the shower washing your hair thoroughly. Wisk everything together and put your coat on coat your hair with it.

1 and 1/2 avocado
1/2 squeezed lemon
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons manuka honey
Optional: 1-3 drops of essential oil

If you’ve seen how shiny Kourtney Kardashian’s hair is, and are wondering what she does, this is the hair mask she uses according to totalbeauty.

I’ve already gone over the benefits of avocado, lemon, and olive oil so I’ll skip to Manuka honey.

Manuka honey is an awesome ingredient to add to this hair mask since it attracts AND retains moisture.

You can also use it for your face if you experience acne since it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.

As for essential oil you can use rosemary oil since it’s been proven to help with hair loss and preventing premature white hairs!

If you suffer from dandruff, eczema or dermatitis look into sage essential oil.

Avocado hair masks conclusion

Just like with anything else, you need to be consistent when it comes to your hair mask game.

Applying an avocado hair mask once in a blue moon won’t keep your hair looking the way it does after you apply it.

Apply your avocado hair mask at least once a week for at least 20-30 minutes. The longer you keep it on, the more the ingredients will “marinate” and get the most out of the benefits.

If you go to work with this mask on to get the most out of this mask, your boss will definitely have a talk with you. Not saying this happened to me, but let’s just say you don’t want to do it.
